Well another exciting end to another year! Cannot believe the school year is over!
Tons of fun was had at the moving up ceremonies for 4th graders and 8th graders…which is always bittersweet. SHS graduation was lovely…and very exciting to see some of my former students graduate some I have known since they were three years old! WOW!
Congratulations to Miss Eriksen for not only winning a Golden Apple Award for her extraordinary contributions to Stonington Public Schools but for completing her year long internship! You are ready to soar like an eagle. We will miss you!
Stayed tuned for updates this summer – Sign Language Class through Stonington Rec and Summer School for my social thinking groups.
Happy Summer Everyone!
What a week!
We had a week full of fun celebrating the end of the year with all of our groups!
Lots of treats and goodies along with lots of memories. Looks like everyone is ready to move on to the next grade level!
We’ve had dance parties, talking parties, eating parties, and game parties. We even completed Superflex’s Obstacle Course at WBSS!
Thanks again to the parents who put together the incredible Annie, Jr. cast party! It was amazing…
Extra special thanks to Miss Eriksen for providing each of our students with a special “Student Survival Kit” which contained:
A lollipop – to help lick your problems
A tootsie roll – to help you roll with the punches
A stick of gum – so that your class can stick together
String – to help you tie up loose ends
Band-Aid – to heal your wounds
Eraser – to wipe away your problems
Cotton Balls – to put in your ears when you can’t hear yourself think
A Penny – so you can have enough “cents” to realize what a valuable asset you are
Middle school students should listen closely to the announcements on Monday – the drama club’s next production will be announced!
Congratulations to all our students! Special thanks to parents for sharing your children with us!
Fourth Grade Girls: No groups today due to preschool PPTs at West Vine Street School!
Social Thinking Group: We continued playing “Choose!” A game that helps children learn to make good choices, improve coping skills and enhance decision making skills. However, there were lots of “Unthinkables” around and we needed to stop the game to talk about what Superflex would do……
KUDOS to the 8th Grade IT6 Cast on a fabulous show!
