No bad luck today!!!! All fabulous groups!
Miss Lubs Class: We are almost done with our real-aloud “Rules” – a story about a young girl who has an autistic brother and becomes friends with a young man in a wheelchair who cannot speak. This kids are so good during the read aloud and our discussions are lively and insightful!
Fun Friday Peer Group: We continued with our “Wild Things” theme and then played with magnets as a group! Nice sharing today! The kids particularly enjoyed my new singing donkey!
4th Grade Girls: Today we read Madonna’s book “English Roses” which taught us a lesson about judging a book by its cover and how to overcome jealousy of others. The girls drew their own characters after the story. The girls were fantastic today!!!! All the girls earned group stars!
Social Thinking Groups – Grades 3/4: Today we played a game called “Too Little, Too Much, Just Right”…a social communication game that focuses on how messages and actions are conveyed and received. The kids did a wonderful job of acting out messages and actions as the rest of the kids voted on their “Express-O-Meters”. We are learning how to regulate our voices and moods to fit the situation. We ended the group by playing Cosmic Catch…the kids were great and there were no competitive melt-downs – all played fair and square! All of the kids were caught being star social detectives!
