My Work is Child's Play!

A Fabulous End of the Week!

Miss Lubs Class: We are so close to being done with our real-aloud “Rules” – a story about a young girl who has an autistic brother and becomes friends with a young man in a wheelchair who cannot speak. Today the kids begged for more – but they will be kept in suspense until after Thanksgiving!

Fun Friday Peer Group: Today we re-read Brown Bear, Brown Bear and then completed a Brown Bear puzzle! Next, we played with magnets again! After the singing donkey performed we did the Hokey Pokey….lots of laughs! What a blast!

4th Grade Girls Groups 1 and 2: Today we started celebrating the holiday season! We created turkeys and on each of the turkey feathers wrote what we are thankful for. Many of the girls earned group stars!

Social Thinking Group: Such a lively bunch…..hard to harness all the energy and keep Brain Eater from appearing! We started our group with a new activity: “What did you say? What did you mean?” This helps our kids understand metaphors and idioms. Today’s statement: “He has butterflies in his stomach”. Some interesting thoughts on this one! Finally, we started a new game called “Play Fair!” which focuses on sportsmanship and identifying expected and unexpected behaviors during games and competitions. The social detectives did a fabulous job!

Mrs. Dudda’s Class: Today the students from my third grade girls group presented their Thankful Turkeys to the class and then helped their classmates create their own and on each of the turkey feathers the students wrote what they are thankful for.

A great end to an absolutely wonderful week!
