Welcome to Seventh Grade Science!
It’s going to be a great year!
My goal is for all students to enjoy science, learn the 7th grade concepts and to realize their importance in our world. I do this by ensuring that every student is actively involved and engaged. I incorporate a variety of teaching methods such as singing, hands-on activities, formal labs, group presentations, demonstrations, note taking and games, just to name a few. Room 110 is a very active place!
The underlying focus of our science curriculum is energy. Our 4 concentrated areas of study are….
Food Preservation and Microbes We will study cross contamination, methods of food preservation, a variety of microbes and how food preservation effects growing populations.
Earth Forces We will study how Earth’s external and internal energy constructs and destructs land formations.
Simple Machines We will study the six simple machines along with the concepts of work, kinetic and potential energy.
Human Body Systems We will study each system, along with cells and mitosis, and focus on how they all interact together.
