What is a sensory garden?
A sensory garden invites exploration of nature through all the senses. It is designed for all visitors, with consideration for the wide range of challenges and learning styles of those with special needs.

Our garden will include:
• wheelchair access
• raised flower beds
• a variety of leaf textures, colors, and shapes
• a variety of surfaces
• water, music, and art features

The Outdoor Classroom
Learning outside opens the door to understanding how our actions impact our environment. Our multisensory garden will provide an extensive teaching resource for all grade levels. Learning will occur across the curriculum, including topics such as native plants and animals, weather, ecosystems, and conservation.

Highlights of the sensory space
